Search Engines using AI assisted queries
I have recently learned that search engines such as DuckDuckGo and Google use AI for queries and that there isn’t a way for the individual user to verify if it’s using ChatGPT.
With DuckDuckGo in particular they simply state that it uses ‘AI’ for search assist, they don’t give any indication as to what AI they use… whether they use their own or ChatGPT.
Google uses Gemini for their AI assisted queries and the sheer scale of it is immense because by default any search query you give to Google or DuckDuckGo they use AI and with DuckDuckGo maybe even ChatGPT for generating the results.
I know you can turn it off for DuckDuckGo in the settings
Bing uses copilot search which from what I was able to glean is Microsoft’s own AI they built.
